Vortex Flow Meters - Hontzsch

Hontzsch® Vortex flow sensor is one of the few instruments capable of measuring gases with suspended particles. A crucial advantage of this instrument lies in the independence of density, pressure and temperature from the working medium. Moreover, its turndown ratio is impressively high: 1:160.

The principle of measurement of the Hontzsch vortex flow sensor is based on vortices being shed when the flowing medium reaches a rod-shaped obstruction - the Karman phenomenon of vortex shedding - whereby the vortex shedding frequency is a dimension for the flow velocity.
